Listening to a new CD tonight which contains songs from two 1930's movies - Hollywood Hotel and Flying Down To Rio - but the CD has not been remastered, so it sounds a bit ropey in parts  :)

Bought a newish Sinatra compilation called 'NOTHING BUT THE BEST'
as realised we hadn't got the track 'SUMMER WIND' it's pretty good.
Summer Wind and All My Tomorrows-super tracks. Also does the best version if there can be such a thing of someone actually singing MOONLIGHT SERENADE.

Lena and Harry I would LOVE to be able to listen to your Eric Hall programme.
We did try to tune in but realised that it a local BBC station as our local station popped up.
Wish that our local radio played such great songs on it. :(

You just need to tune in to Radio Essex Sandra.
Here is some info about Eric that might be of interest..

"Eric relives our memories every Sunday
Eric Hall

Let Eric bring back memories of yore, with music and guests from the 40s, 50s and early 60s, every Sunday afternoon between 3 and 6pm.

Eric was a key mover in the pop music business of the 60s and 70s, working with artists such as Queen, Elton John, Paul McCartney and the Sex Pistols.

He later moved into the football world, becoming an agent for a number of high profile footballers and managers including Dennis Wise, Robbie Savage, Leon Cort and Terry Venables.

Probably best known for his PR tactics and big money wheeler-dealing when he was a football agent, Eric previously had a long and extraordinary career in show business promotion.

After selling football club rosettes for his uncle, he got a job as a record company tea boy along with the young Reg Dwight - later to become Elton John.

He moved through the record business to become head of promotion at EMI and for many years mixed with the stars.

Freddie Mercury wrote the hit record "Killer Queen" about Eric and he persuaded Malcolm McLaren to put the Sex Pistols on the Today Show!! He grew up in the East End with Marc Bolan and was with him on the night of his death.

Join Eric every Sunday from 3 until 6 for Making Memories, with music and guests from a bygone era.

* Get in touch with Eric email: essex.monster@bbc.co.uk >

More about Eric...

* Eric grew up in Shoreditch, in the East End of London

* His first job was packing parcels at Mills Music in Denmark Street in London with Elton John

* His first kiss was at No 1, Old Nicholls Street, Shoreditch from his 'lovely parents'

* The first car he owned was an old Renault, and the first record that he bought was 'Where can I go' by Leo Fuld

* His favourite place in Essex is 198 New London Road - the BBC Essex studios!!"
