TV Theme Tunes, anyone?
Re: TV Theme Tunes, anyone?
I think that is a programme that has not reached Uk yet--not to my knowledge anyway. Who are the Main stars?

Hey Mariana
It is actually a really old tv series from approx 1969 staring Bill Bixby and his son was played by Brandon Cruz. I was wrong about the song tho, it was actually "Best Friend" by Harry Nilsson. Dont know where my mind was at.

Another memorable movie.. HIGH NOON, when Gary Cooper returned to his old territory to take on the outlaws who had changed the town of which he was once sherriff.
Grace Kelly as the wife who feared for his life as he takes on this mission, but she and us patrons had no fear when Gary Cooper was around.
A real classic Western.

Wasn't High Noon was a movie L&H, not a TV theme tune

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

"UPSTAIRS , DOWNSTAIRS" Lovely tune-we had it on a 45" by Mantovani.
As a complete contrast, there was also Pauline Collins singing "What are we going to do with Uncle Arfer "

Your right Mariana that was a wonderful theme and I loved the show. I have been getting it from Netflix to rewatch it. Another fun theme tune - the theme to So You Think You Can Dance. Also LOVE the show

Re: TV Theme Tunes, anyone?
I loved "So you think you can dance"--but I do not know many others--both on and off the Forum , who watched it.
It is quite a while since it has been on UK tv, and even then I think we were probably a year behind.
I think the last time I saw it was when Lacey Schwimmer [Jamie's sister] came in 2nd on her first show, and I know since then she has done the US version of "Strictly" and that was ages ago, as I know we have seen another series of that too.

I liked Upstairs Downstairs too Marian.
Anyone remember the Australian Soap "A Country Practice?" I liked that theme tune too.

I used to watch A Country Practice John. I really missed it when it finished. I liked the theme music too, and Sons and Daughters.

A weekly western series with a memorable theme tune and remembered from those far off days was Wagon Train with Robert Horton.
Our friends daughter had a crush on him and had pictures all over her bedroom wall.

I don't think anyone has mentioned the theme from The South Bank Show, which is actually "Variations" written by Andrew Lloyd Webber. I love that piece and it fits perfectly with this TV programme.

The Z Cars theme is played before every Everton FC home match

I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: TV Theme Tunes, anyone?
For really old people like me - how about the Howdy Dowdy theme
Re: TV Theme Tunes, anyone?
I think that is a USA one, only. Although funnily enough, I have heard it mentioned in a song called "Somewhere that's green" by Mandy Patinkin.
It goes "The kids watch "Howdy Doody", as the sun sets in the West"
