I agree with you on your choice of Des O Connor's worst songs, Lena and Harry, I can't stand it either.

Paul--when you listed "Daylight"--did you mean "Daybreak"--which happens to be one of my favourite Barry songs. i cannot recall him singing a song called "Dsylight".

PS--if this post is listed twice, it is not my fault--John posted at the same time as me, and my original post went missing-so I have had to do it again !!

Of course I meant Daybreak. I love the entire feel of that song, especially when he returns to the chorus and there's a key change too somewhere. I can't remember the name of his background singers on that song. They had a name and released a single and maybe an album.

The cd cover of "This ones for you" which features "Daybreak" , has background vocals by Lady Flash---Monica Burruss---Debra Byrd & the lady in the middle with the strange name---and Ron Dante.

It does not say who sang on which track--the only name that I really know is Debra Byrd.

Lady Flash doesn't ring a bell. It was something like "The ..." I think they also appeared on Name That Tune. Maybe it will come to me one day.

I like The Bee Gee's Massachusetts and Barry Manilows "I Write The Songs" but as for Delilah..like John I can''t stand the song, and although I like Tom Jones's singing one or Two songs.. for instance "Till" and The Green Green Grass Of Home "must confess I find this easier to do than to watch him.

Hey Marian, reminded me of my Great Nephew's wedding in Slovenia. The wedding ceremony and reception took place in a beautiful castle. His newly wed wife sang "The Power Of Love" to him, resulting in not a dry eye in the house.
They divorced within a year.
