Survey in this weeks YOURS magazine .The question was 'who would you prefer to see as a judge on Strictly?
The results were Alesha Dixon 8% and Arlene Phillips 92%.

I feel sorry for Alesha , as none of this is her fault---but everyone seems to be on Arlene's side.

Apparently, Sharon Osborne and Richard Madelely, two potential contestants, have pulled out of the show due to a row over money.

I didn't know that Richard Madeley & Sharon Osbourne had dropped out of SCD - not that I'm disappointed though!

It was interesting to see that the public had chosen Arlene in the survey and I know it's unfair to Alesha and as Mariana said it's not her fault but Arlene was in a better position of the two to judge the competition. However perhaps Alesha was brought in to judge from just an enterttainment point of view.

I will still be watching the show and only hope that in spite of all the problems it will still be as good as it always has been.

We have just had a laugh reading your posts Marian & Mariana. We hadn't spotted the word at the end but now it jumps out at us!

As you can see I have written this post in white - no prizes for guessing why. However, I will write again in colour and try to avoid any more swear type words unless of course I get on my soapbox on Strictly!

That was funny Maureen, mind you we don't care if Sharon Osbourne and... pain in the neck Richard Madely stroll off in to the sunset, If it means we can avoid seeing his embarassing Phantom Of The Opera stint again :) :) :)

I agree with you Sharon and Richard would probably have been unbearable.
Front page in the'Woman' magazine this week re ageism etc.
Inside a headline 'Arlenes consolation?':Celebrities young and old -from 31 year old 2008 finalist Rachel Stevens to head judge Len Goodman,65-have spoken of their shock after it was announced that Alesha Dixon would be taking Arlene Philips' place on Strictly.
But the news may not have come as such a surprise to Arlene, who's admitted to feeling the fear of being branded 'past it':I feel intense pressure. Is that pressure I put on myself,or is it that I feel somebody is always watching for every wrinkle?I just don't know'.
But despite controversially getting the chop,Arlene hasn't walked away from the BBC.The star has been named as Strictly correspondent on The One Show.
'I still possess the same passion as ever.It never fades' says Arlene, who hasn't commented on the suggestion that The One Show spot is a consolation prize.
The BBC reckon that the complaints have slowed down,I don't think so ,but as with Malcolm they will do as they like. :?

It's such a shame about Arlene, but it will still be nice to hear her comments on The One Show.
As for Sharon and Richard backing out, I agree they are both pains in the a**e at times, but it might have been fun to see them voted off!

I'll give this a go in colour and see if it swears for me too Maureen!!

I thought I'd used purple the first time Robert but then you made me think it was blue, but my next post was more blue, so than you could see it was purple originally.
All these blue posts, I'll be getting chucked off the forum
