Actually, Richard was asking if anyone had this song on an original album in his recent quest for missing singles. So I'm sure he would be interested to know if Pretty Polly exists on any soundtrack album too. :D
The film was also entitled A Matter of Innocence.

I'm informed that the soundtrack album has an alternate edit of Pretty Polly, but i'm yet to find anyone who actually has a copy. I suspect it did not sell well and is quite rare.

Pretty Polly it's self was originally released as a single and this version has subsiquenty appeared on CD on compilations like Hollywood and Broadway. The stereo mix appeared on Capitol's Best Of but has never appeared anywhere else.

A couple of day's ago on the What are you Listening To page, I mentioned listening to Pretty Polly - from the Hollywood and Broadway CD :)
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On" :(

There are a few lobby cards and posters from "A Matter of Innocence" on eBay, so you never know, an album or two might appear one day.

Pleased you found you had it on CD Sandra.

I opened my gig last night with this song, what a reaction it gave the audience. They asked me to sing it again at the end of the night. I cant stop singing it at the moment, the lyrics are fantastic.

In one of the You Tube entries of Matt Monro's We're Gonna Change The World, I found this posting from one of the songwriters. I thought this was very interesting. He still appreciates people loving his song. I wish he would pop in to the MM Forum and see how highly we all regard this great song.

"So good to hear this - thanks for posting it.
I wrote this with my great friend Tim Harris who sadly died 3 months ago, followed by his wife Annie (featured in the lyrics). Cheers Dave Matthews"

WGCTW

Is a commentary on contemporary living;
a poem about the human condition,
and Matt's bravura rendition
crowns it in bejewelled singing.

AURAL BLISS

Thanks to Matt Monro's marvellous musical powers
my days are filled with exquisite listening hours,
so in salute I think: 'Why not say it with flowers?'

We were listening to Matt singing' In The Arms Of Love' yesterday and commented on how long he held the note at the end.
John thought the above was a 12 second hold.
I think you have discussed on here a longer ending than that, can you remind me.Thanks Sandra :?

We got round to counting 'Maria's ending yesterday and don't think it is.
John even pulled up in the car to count properly?? :?

In the section "Matt's world of music", there is a thread called "longest note", which may be the one you are looking foir.

Paul had nominated "Time after time", but I have not had time to check any others yet.
