Still talking about Matt

Post by lori » Thu Aug 06, 2009 9:43 pm

Though I am watching an old Judy Garland Van Johnson movie,, "In The Good OLd Summertime " Those were the heartwarming movies... and certainly goes back a long way... But rest assured Matt is still singing in the background( but loud enough to hear} But tell me what it is that I always want to hear him? I guess that is why I feel I can write to all of you on the forum... in The Lounge.... Isn't that right !! Just dropping by with my thoughts thanks for listening.....

I'm not sure I could concentrate on any movie with Matt Monro singing in the background. His wonderful vocals would require my full attention. :)

It's so neat to know there's a very nice lady in Kansas listening to Matt Monro even more than I am in Maryland/DC/Virginia!

to paul, Perhaps I shouldn't have said Matt was`in the`background... Matt Monro sings in my apt , in my car. or often I take a cd with me in another car.. So while he sings, I sometime tune in on a movie.. But believe me Paul He remains King where i am !! And obviously you feel the same way. I find it very comforting to know my fellow American , we have such good taste in music!! Thanks for your nice response...

To be honest, I am not particularly fond of background music, in restaurants, shop, or whatever.
In the car driving along ...YES
I either have to be listening to music or not listening to music :) and don't see the point in having it quietly droning in the background. :) :)

I quite enjoy listening to background music in restaurants, shops, etc. -- especially when I'm alone. The music reminds me of special moments and sometimes I hear new songs, or songs I haven't heard in years. Then again, sometimes I hear songs that make me run out of stores, like the dreadful I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, Up Where We Belong, (I've Had) The Time of My Life, or I Will Always Love You (Whitney Houston's version).

The only problem with background music when I'm with others is they have to hear endless trivia about the songs from me. So it can get boring for them!

I feel badly, that anyone would think I would have Matt for background music! What I was trying to say was that Matt Monro is always playing here with me .. no matter what else is happening. I listen to every word he sings .. I really don;t care about other voices only Matt Monro... and I try very hard to expose his voice to my family and friends, Its Sunday have a happy day .. my friends..

Hi Lori, i'm sure we all know what you mean, and wouldnt think for a moment that you just have Matt's music on for background music.
We all get pleasure from our music in different ways., and that's from choice.
Harry often has the TV on with the sub-titles and the sound down , and listening to music,
Keep enjoying Matt's music Lori. :) :)

Hi Lori,
You Go , Girl..!!
I'd like to think we all pay homage to Matt in our own way.. whether we've been here five minutes..or five years.
When I'm home alone...the headphone plug comes out of the PC..and Matt blasts through the house...s*d the neighbours.!
Mind you ,the dog gives me some confused looks..

Hi Gregg... Just wanted to post a reply to you.. even though you wrote on Oct 16th.. But I feel its never too late to write or talk about Matt.. Matt sings here with me wherever I am When in the car and I have a passenger I purposely expose them to him, and they too agree he is still the worlds greatest voice !! I always feel in whatever song he sings , so sincere, so beautiful there is always a comforting message to me.. Hope all is well for you in Australia... always wanted to visit there. Happy to know Matt sings to you in your beautiful country.... best wishes lori

I think you'll find your reply is very up to date Lori as Gregg only wrote to you today. :D
October 16th was the date he joined the forum, and of course to write about Matt and his music is what the forum is for
