Dame Vera currently has an album in the charts.
What a superstar, in her ninety-second year.
I love her perfect diction: note how she clearly
enunciates the letter 'h' in 'don't know where,
don't know when'. I'm sure that Matt, who himself
was an exemplar of clear diction, appproves.

Yes, well done Vera, that's marvellous, the oldest living artist to make it to the top 20 into the charts, and almost 6 decades since, after she topped them in 1952 with her number 1 hit in the US ..Auf Wiedersehn.

I contribute to a fan-based chart in another forum each week. I just voted and Vera Lynn's new album was my #1. Most of the contributors are young, so I'll be interested to see her placement on Saturday.

I am happy to announce that Dame Vera Lynn is now Number 1 on the UK album chart. What a great achievement; this was totally unexpected. She's even higher than all of those Beatles reissues.

BBC Radio 1 just counted down the top albums on the UK chart show. All the young kids on the chart forum are thrilled for her; it was very nice to read their comments.

Wow!! thanks for that news Paul. Isn't it fantastic. I'm listening to Eric Hall and he announced it and is playing "We'll Meet Again " he has just tried to call Vera but she is otherwise engaged galivanting about somewhere
