I have had this album on preorder for several weeks at CDwow---there are 2 versions--single disc version was listed at £6.99--the double version at £11.99--a bargain price I thought.

Terence, that was beautiful--I have never heard that song before.

However, about a hour ago, while preparing my evening meal, I heard Chris Evans play Barbra singing "In the Wee Small Hours" from the same album--I already have several great versions of this song--Frank Sinatra, of course, Johnny Mathis, Carly Simon--it is one of those songs that always sounds good--but Barbra singing it was just outstanding--I adored it--if I had not already preordered it, I would buy the cd just for that one track alone--I cannot wait for it to arrive--[end of this month]

Barbra will tape a special at BBC in London on Sept 20.
Isn't that great news?
To apply for tickets, write to FNWJR PO Box 60571 London W2 7QY according to the BBC ticket website. She will be on the Jonathan Ross show.

Hi Terence---what a big surpise-thanks for that info-I shall apply for a ticket and keep my fingers crossed.

And I may even be able to put up with Jonathan Ross for once.

The link that you put on for the download, was on the US Amazon site, and I have never been able to download from the US Site-I do not know if it is possible in UK, but I have never managed it. I guess I can wait a couple of weeks ....

Elaine Paige just played Barbra singing "You Must Believe In Spring" on BBC Radio 2.

Did anyone hear it?

After the program finishes, is it possible to click "listen again"?
Barbra sings about 40 minutes into the show.

Mariana, the lyrics are very meaningful:

When lonely feelings chill
The meadows of your mind,
Just think if Winter comes,
Can Spring be far behind?

Beneath the deepest snows,
The secret of a rose
Is merely that it knows
You must believe in Spring!

Just as a tree is sure
Its leaves will reappear;
It knows its emptiness
Is just the time of year

The frozen mountain dreams
Of April's melting streams,
How crystal clear it seems,
You must believe in Spring!

You must believe in love
And trust it's on its way,
Just as the sleeping rose
Awaits the kiss of May

So in a world of snow,
Of things that come and go,
Where what you think you know,
You can't be certain of,
You must believe in Spring and love

INSTRUMENTAL INTERLUDE

You must believe in love
And trust it's on its way,
Just as the sleeping rose
Awaits the kiss of May

So in a world of snow,
Of things that come and go,
Where what you think you know,
You can't be certain of,
You must believe in Spring and love

You must believe in Spring and love
You must believe in Spring and love

Hi Gray

Glad you enjoyed it. All the songs are well chosen in the album produced by Diana Krall.

Here's Barbra & Diana together:
