PROMS IN THE PARK--2009

Post by mariana44 » Sat Sep 12, 2009 11:35 pm

Did anyone get to see any of the Proms in the Park-there was so much going on, it was impssible to watch everything.

I watched mostly the Hyde Park concert---with Katherine Jenkins-she looked lovely, and sang some great songs--The ones I liked best were "In the arms of an angel" and "Hallelujah"--I much prefer Katherine's version to Alexandra's. Then I saw some of Chris De Burgh from Salford, then back to Hyde Park with Barry Manilow--I thought in some parts hos voice was a little week, but overall I thought it was great---and I loved him duetting with John Barrowman.

Terry Wogan introduced the show, and it seemed to me that he was struggling.

I didn't see it Marian, but did catch Barry Manilow being interviewed about his appearance on "Breakfast" yesterday morning. :D

We were like you Marian, chopping and changing the buttons, we saw a lot of Barry Manilow in Hyde Park, but mostly then from The Albert Hall.
A nice conductor from America, David Robertson did a great job.
