Favourite Films
Re: Favourite Films
I vaguely remember the film Mariana, I check it out on google and think I will get it on netflix, it looks really interesting.
Have I mentioned The Fuller Brush Man with Red Skelton. They had a Red Skelton marathon last weekend and I still hurt from laughing. Excuse My Dust was another great movie. I love those old funny films, clean and funny

Re: Favourite Films
Henry Fonda was indeed in that film-one of the main charcters in fact-I cannot remember all the others-
I know Karl Malden was one.

Re: Favourite Films
12 Angry Men is one of my all time favourite movies.
Superb performances from a cast that included Martin Balsam, Jack Warden and Lee J Cobb.

Re: Favourite Films
My favourite "modern" day films are the three Lord of the Rings film trilogy epics
First came The Fellowship of the Ring
followed by The Two Towers
finally we had multi Oscar winner The Return of the King
.................loved them all............ (amazing watching them on surround sound)

Re: Favourite Films
I went to see District 9 at the flicks last week, Robert.
(Peter Jackson produced it).
Another special effects laden extravaganza (with added gore and swearing).
The bass track in this movie shook the floor and seats!

Re: Favourite Films
PS..I thought The Fellowship of the Ring was the best of the three 'Ring' movies.
Do you have a favourite, Robert?

Re: Favourite Films
I am normally a little reluctant to see remakes, but Journey to the Center of the Earth with Branden Fraser was really quite good. I still like the old version with Pat Boone too.
Re: Favourite Films
I like all three Gray, for different reasons
but if I had to choose one, it would have to be ...................The Return of the King
but as the word trilogy suggests, it is one complete (long) story

Hi Marian
I went to a talk/presentation at the weekend on the history of York Cinemas.
One of the old photo's shown of The Regal
(now a furniture store)
had a poster on the wall of 'Footsteps In The Fog'!
I couldn't believe it!
Obviously the picture was taken in 1955 and there were masses queueing to see the film!

Re: Favourite Films
It's a small world isn't it Gray. What a coincidence!
Did you ever get to see the film? It is very dated, but I thought had a real atmosphere of the times in which it was set.
