Thanks Mark, There are Society's all over the world for Mario Lanza, that includes an annual get together here in the uk for many of those people, a museum dedicated to him in Philidelphia, and several vibrant web-sites, even after his death 50 years ago, but there's no denying he had a tremendous voice. :) :)

The first part of the Mario Lanza story on Monday night the 5th can be heard on the "Listen Again" feature for those who missed this episode
The second and final part next Monday, the 12th 11.30pm.
The biggest tribute to mark 50 years of Mario's passing was held in New York on Saturday the 3rd Oct;with several great tenors taking part.
Al Martino was Master of Ceremonies on this occasion. who was greeted with standing ovations. :) :)
Al's daughter produced a TV programme on Mario's life a few years ago. :)

The second half of The Mario Lanza story still gave us a reminder of what a great voice he had, but the usual kind of negative stuff that's put out and happens when someone isn't around to defend themselves.
