Matt Monro Appreciation Society in Australia

Post by cyril boylett » Mon Oct 09, 2006 10:04 am

hi everybody from downunder. Chris & I were absolutely stoked to realise that Michele had allocated our own section [I was going to say box, but at my age I try to avoid that word!] in the web site. In the November news we hope to tell you how the society emerged, our achievements to date, & what we plan to achieve in our neck of the woods in the future. We'll also throw in some of our memories & stories of an early Matt! Before that we could have some exciting news that would be of great interest to you all. I look in quite regularly to your interchange of chatter. Quite bewildering at times & often very parochial, but what an intelligent & informative bunch you all are. Till next time, Cyril & Chris.

Hi Cyril and Chris, good to hear from you, and we agree you deserve the section allocated to you.
Congratulations again for instigating the Australian Appreciation Society.
It's looking so good from here. Brilliant!!! :P
The web-site forum--- bewildering, parochial, WHO US   :? :? well maybe-- but for vibrancy, We're the tops No Contest.

Hi Chris and Cyril,
I notice that the date of your posting was 2006.
What is the current status of the down-under Monro Movement??
I have only been a 'member' for a few weeks.
Cheers
Greg

I think you will find that the "Monro Movement" in Australia came to an end a few years ago. And I believe that Chris and Cyril no longer contribute to the forum.

Go for it Greg, maybe you could encourage some new blood and start it up again. I'm sure Matt must have quite number of fans in Australia. :D

Thanks Marian,
I don't give up that easy..!! I have joined the Listeners Advisory Board of my local Easy Listening station here in Melbourne
and I am putting in a little ground work with the management, reminding them of the importance of next year.
It will be interesting to see what transpires.

Hi Mariana,
well, if "Live in Australia" is anything to go by, there has to be at least enough fans in Australia to fill a casino auditorium.!!
By rights, they SHOULD be all members of this forum.
