No words to this tune, but no one could cover Albatross by Fleetwood Mac.........which I love :) :)

I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On" :(

We have probably had this one before, but Julie London singing Cry Me a River is sublime :) ................(Susan Boyle does a wonderful cover of the song..........which is on her new CD) :)

Have you heard Johnny Cash's cover? It's excellent and almost as good as Vaughn's.

I have heard Johnny Cash's version, you are right it is almost as good as Vaughn's. I think Gene Autry was the first to record it but his comes in a long third.

How about Teresa Brewer - Sweet Old Fashion Girl

I always remember Teresa Brewer singing "Music, music, music"-and it would be very difficult to imagine anyone else singing it.

I think Teresa Brewer also sang Roll a Silver Dollar, but I'm sure I can also remember a man singing it, but can't recall who it was. Anyone know?

Thinking about this, does it not suggest a flaw in a song if it can only be identified with one artist, and shouldn't a song be "bigger" than the performer to be considered truly great? I was surprised once to see someone else's recording of "The Lady Is A tramp" described as a "cover version of a Frank Sinatra song", when surely it should have been called another interpretation of a Rodgers and Hart song.

COOL WATER - Vaughan Monroe, although several other singers, including Frankie Laine, covered this song.
