Keith,
While I would love to sing in it after 3 floods in the basement in 2 months I have learned to be thankful it is only the basement and not the whole house like the people just north of me.

I complained I had no shoes until I saw a man who had no feet

Hi Pam, So sorry to hear about your floods recently. I hope the weather gets better for you. We arrived in Atlanta just after the flooding at the beginning of October and realised it had been very serious to the north of where we were.
We have stormy weather in the U.K overnight and this morning. I hope everyone is okay and no one suffers any flooding or structural damage from the present awful weather. :( :(
Marian.

We were on a coach tour Pam, very organised, and we moved on the next day.
It would have been great to meet all the same. Maybe some other time. :D

Well there is a computer room in the basement, but the floor is the pits so you would have to sleep on planks. We are drying out and the guest room is on the first floor, actually have 2 rooms except when my beloved mother-in-law is here. as the say in the south Y'all come

Hope you are drying out Pam-I know how awful flooding can be--my sisters garage was flooded in January--and as it had beemn converted to an office and utilty room, there was a lot of damage.

It was only finished last month, and cost £7000 in insurance !!!!

Also at the beginning of last year my sister's sister-in-law was flooded---the whole family of 5 was living in a bed sit for 6 months before they were rehoused.

A friend sent me this poem this morning. I think it is definitely food for thought....

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
'Tomorrow' I say! 'I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him.'
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner, yet miles away,
'Here's a telegram sir,' 'Jim died today.'
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell them.
Don't be afraid to express yourself.
Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.
Because when you decide that it is the right time it might
be too late.

Seize the day. Never have regrets.

And most importantly, stay close to your friends

and family, for they have helped

make you the person that you are today.

All that is oh, so true. Like everyone else, I have lost family members and close friends--sometimes there is no chance to even say goodbye, and all that is left are memories---"I wish I had....."
or "I should have....." "Why didn't I.......". It is too late then.

So appreciate, love, and respect your family and friends while you still can.
