UK Floods

Post by GregT » Mon Nov 23, 2009 7:42 am

Hi to all Monrovians,
Just seeing TV vision of the shocking floods in the UK.
I hope none of the forum members have been affected.
Having recently had minor flooding in our garage, I can imagine the horror being faced by many in England at the moment
as their entire houses are inundated.
The post flood stench is not at all nice.
My thoughts are with you all.

Thanks for your thoughts Greg---Luckily in the South of England, although we have had lots of rain, we have had no flooding this time round.

But I know conditions in parts of the North of England are horrendous-I do not know anyone personal, but just seeing it on TV is devastating.

Simply awful to see the results of all the flooding on businesses and homes. Also the tragic loss of a policeman when a bidge collapsed.
How would you ever get over such occurences?

A JJ friend of mine runs a guest house in Keswick, that has been one of the areas most affected by flooding this time. She was with us at Jack's concert in Birmingham at the time the news broke about the terrible floods further north.
She headed home by coach the following day, only to be faced with many closed roads causing a detour of 60 miles, but she made it.
Luckily, her home wasn't affected and she has since managed to travel in and out of the area to see Jack in Glasgow and Manchester. It's amazing what dedication and determination can achieve!! :D
Marian
