Is this a new production of The Sound Of Music, or one of those singalong versions that tour the world? If it's a new production, do you have any information on the cast or opening dates?

Sorry Paul, I'm afraid I don't know. The Sinatra show is booking until the 16th Of September, so I presume it is around this time it will close for refurbishment, but I'm not sure. Jack's concert was to have been on the 1st of October, but unfortunately it will not now go ahead. :(
I will let you know if I can find any more info about "The sound of Music".

Hi Marian-I would have loved to see Jack Jones---unfortunately the timing is bad for me--I have a week off at the end of September for concerts, plus the Fan Club Meet in Hayes, Plus the following weekend, I have a long weekend in Birmingham. Not only the expense of travelling, plus hotels, plus tickets etc, but also I have to pay for my 2 puppies to go into kennels. I will have to wait for you to go, and tell me all about him.

Hello Marian (2)
Sorry you can't get to see JJ this time round. I'll tell you all about the concerts at the fan club meet in November. (If we have time with all the others to chat to!)
I've followed Jack's career since the early seventies, and he's singing now as well as he's ever done, if not better!
He's at his very best on stage in front of a live audience. I never think he comes over that well on tv, but if you've not seen him live, hope you can make the next tour, as he's definately not to be missed!
He generally comes to the U.K. every eighteen months or so. :D

Hi Paulm Mariana44 Marian, and all, "The Sound Of Music" set for the London Palladium is an Andrew LLoyd Webber production and Scarlett Johansson is to play the part of Maria.
The choreographer is none other than Arlene Phillips,   who is on the panel of judges of Strictly Come Dancing. Good luck cast.
We haven't yet booked for Jack Jones Marian, not quite certain sure what we'll be doing at that time, but we'll see.

Hi Lena and Harry---I had not heard that Scarlett Johanssen was to play "Maria" in "The Sound of Music"---I thought that they were going to cast an unknown in the part, and have them chosen on Tv, a bit like X-factor---or maybe I am thinking of something else.

Can Scarlett Johannsen sing ?---I must admit I know very little about her--have seen pictures of her, but that is all.

Neither did I know that Arlene Philips is doing the choreography. Well, if she does not get them going, nobody will

Maybe it was the parts of the children that was going to be decided on TV--does anyone know any more than I do??

Will have check the Breakfast Website tomorrow night then, as I am sure he'll be on that 8:30 until 9 slot, and I have to go to work. They do get some great guests on there these days, albeit for a few minutes. And to think I used to prefer GMTV! Now day isn't complete without a few minutes of Dermot, Kate, Chris and Declan! Oh and Bill and Sian are great together as well.

Hi Terence---yes I think we do appreciate how lucky we are--but don't forget it is 10 years since JM was over here.

And although logically , with me living only 40 miles from London, it should be easier to get to more concerts and shows than I do.

But apart from my dogs---It is so difficult to get home--my last train leaves Charing Cross at 10.30!! It works out so expensive if you have to stay overnight in London.

Plus the cost of the 3 concerts I have just seen, with everything added-plus £150.00 for kennels--would probably get me a Meditteranean Cruise !!

I like the early bit of GMTV, when they are more serious, and also the very camp Richard Arnold doing his What to Watch slot can be very funny if he is still on. Its just Fiona Philips gets on my nerves a bit - seems a bit light weight! Kate Garaway and Penny are very good tho

Hi All

Just to jump back to Jack Jones, although I'm not sure his voice is really special, I LOVE his version of 'What I did for love', gorgeous.

Hi Gray

Jack Jones is very special indeed. Apart from his wonderful interpretations of standards, his vocal range is awesome for his age. He can still hit the very high notes and hold them. I love his phrasing and the nuances in his singing which always manage to wring something extra from the familiar lyrics or melody.
