CHRISTMAS TV 2009

Post by mariana44 » Sun Dec 27, 2009 11:31 pm

Did someone forget to tell BBC and ITV that it was CHRISTMAS !!

I saw hardly any decemt shows, and for anyone without satellite or Freeview, it must have been really dreary.

It says everything to me, that my 2 favourite programmes were over 45 years old, that IO have seen numerouis times--but you still cannot beat Morecambe and Wise .

I really get annoyed at Christmas TV when popular programmes are scrapped in place of celebrities appearing all over the place, or programmes that continuously harp back on what has happened during the year.

My sister and I were astounded at the programmes that were on just a day or 2 before Christmas ,and then repeated again on Christmas Eve !!!!

And if I switch on and see much more of Michael Mcintyre strutting backwards and forwards across a stage, exhibiting a victim with St Vitus Dance ...i'll scream.  :D

We quite like Michael McIntyre, at least he's clean, witty and makes good observations on life.

Yes, I am in agreement, Christmas Tv has been absolute rubbish this year. Especially Boxing Day and Sunday, we had to resort to dvd's.

It's got that bad now, if we haven't got any decent DVDs left to watch, we have to resort to the TV, :) :)

I agree with everyone's sentiments and it appears we are not alone:

I just watched June Whitfield--"This is your life"--from a few years back--but she is an amazing lady.

But it was so sad to see so many of her guests that are no longer with us.

I was just thinking the same Marian as we watched it. I said to Peter, when we were young everyone was young and alive, but now so many have gone. It's so sad. :( :(
I suppose every generation feels the same, but we have had so many special people this past century. :D
