perry como
does anyone else like perry como? love his relaxed and easy going style, enjoyed watching his tv specials from around the world, and continued performing well into his eighties. he did a christmas concert from dublin in 1994 at the age of 81, and although he wasn't well at the time and his voice was a little croaky, he had standing ovations for superb performances of AND I LOVE YOU SO, BLESS THIS HOUSE andWIND BENEATH MY WINGS. i preferred his later recordings from the late fifties onwards, he recorded some lovely songs such as WORLD OF DREAMS, I WANT TO GIVE and the unforgettable IT'S IMPOSSIBLE. a great artist.

I wish RCA would release ALL his albums onto CD and soon!
Hi John and Mark,
Perry Como had a lovely laid back style of singing.
His voice was pure gold and he along with Matt and others too mentioned here in the forum, was one of the best male singers from the last century.
There are two or three DVD's available which you can order from HMV.
We also have a good collection of Perry's music at home.
The "Love collection" is superb. This includes the lovely song, "For the good times" which is one of our favourites!

Hi Marian
Robert mentioned a Perry Como DVD which I understand has Perry's performances in black and white.
Vic Damone is getting a DVD release soon.
Isn't it time for the wonderful Jack Jones to have a concert DVD commercially released?
The Sinatra Society of Japan says Jack is not an active kind of person regarding his RCA releases. I take this to mean that Jack is not displaying any urgency in getting them released.
I wonder if you can communicate to him that many of his fans are waiting for his RCA recordings on CD format.
