What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?
Re: What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?
I can confirm Paul's comments that this song was sung by James Ingram and Patti Austin for the film "Best friends"--which indeed star Burt Reynolds and Goldie Hawn--I managed ro dig out my 45" [picture cover] and Burt and Goldie were on the back. But what was so surprising to me is that this song was written nearly 30 years ago, as this 45" was recorded in 1982. !1

I am surprised they diud not mention Johnny Mathis--not only did he record this song--for a long period he was closing the show every night to this song.
Although I would guess there are lots more recordings-like Maureen Mcgovern. I cannot say that I have heard Frank Sinatra singing this song. Will it be included on JJ's new cd--I cannot wait to hear his version--plus of course "On my way to you"

As Jack included a part of it in his concerts this time, in combination with The Way We Were, I should think it is very likely it will be on the new CD. One he will definitely include is On My Way To You, and also, Where Do You Start. There is also another really lovely song that apparently no one has recorded yet called There'll Be No Goodbye.

Even Nana Mouskouri recorded this one too.
and with Harry Belafonte.

Tony got the ending wrong-I once told Vic Damone that he'd done a much better job of it.
Tony always tells his concert audience how Frank Sinatra told him to record it-I think if I hear him repeat this again,I'll scream!

It is John, we are gradually winding down after the crazy season and finding time to listen and really enjoy what arrived during that time.

I know what you mean Lena and Harry. I got several albums over Christmas, some of Vic Damone, and haven't listened to them yet. Catching up time, I think.

The latest Shirley Bassey is our favourite 'to listen to in the car ' CD at the minute. 'Our Time Is Now,The Girl From Tiger Bay,After The Rain,The Performance Of My Life'. SO many great tracks

Re: What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?
Definately my top track from that cd is "The girl from TIger Bay",
but plenty of other good tracks on there.
