Listening to Matt Live In Manila at the moment. I downloaded this album the other day from Amazon. Also downloaded 4 early songs of Matt's I hadn't realised had been re released, "Twixt Twelve and Twenty", "I Know", "Heart Of A Man" (slightly different than the other versions released and "Strange Lady In Town".

Indeed Lena and Harry we are big Harry James fans too :D

Listening to Sarah Kennedys show tune this morning a very rare radio playing of Frank Sinatra singing 'I Only Miss Her When I Think Of Her'.

We usually love Frank but in our opinion he managed to make it sound like a dirge. Not a patch on the beautiful version by Matt :)

I've only listened to Susan Boyles's album a couple of times Robert, although I do like her I still say that most of the songs are far too slow.

I agree John. She has probably had some voice coaching. Beneficial in most cases, but not necessarily in hers.

Listening to CLASSIC SINATRA 11. with the bonus track previously unreleased "THIS CAN'T BE LOVE." :)

My feeling is that Susan doesn't understand rhythm and perhaps that's why the tempos are so slow. When she sang I Dreamed a Dream on a morning TV program here, she was completely off with the orchestra and they had to add and drop beats. And the arrangement was painfully slow.

I love I Only Miss Her when I Think of Her when sung by Matt. We haven't talked much about it in the forum, but it's one of his best. I'll try to "listen again" to Sarah to hear the Sinatra version.

I have been listening to all my favourite recordings of the 2000s, as I am working on my top songs and albums of the decade.

I think Susans album should be given a bit more time to grow with everyone :) yes, most of the tracks are on the slow side, as I stated earlier on, but I have really become quite attached to the album now..........Wild Horses, I Dreamed a Dream, You'll See, How Great Though Art and Born To Be Me are outstanding, and Susan does sing them beautifully :D ..........just give it a bit more listening time.

Yes, she does sing well Robert, and "Born To Be Me" is my favourite track from the album. I can't say I am keen on "How Great Thou Art", but I don't like the song anyway, or "Amazing Grace". "Daydream Believer" is far too slow, but that is only my opinion.
