Barbra's new remix

Post by Terence Lee » Sat Oct 28, 2006 1:04 pm

When Barbra used the 4 letter word on stage at Madison Square Garden in New York recently, little did she know her outburst would be remixed into an underground hit!

Hear it for yourself at
www.myspace.com/revolucian

The song is imaginatively titled STFU!

Barbra's new hit?

Post by Terence Lee » Sat Oct 28, 2006 6:01 pm

Maybe Barbra will finally have a Rap hit!
Will Robert help to make it happen by purchasing the CD single?

The guy who remixed it says that if Streisand does not like it, he will tell her to "Shut up if you can't take a joke!"

I think releasing an anit-war song is one thing - its been happening since the 1960's, but bending your audiences ears in between songs is taking things a bit far.

On the subject of Barbra herself, I have always preferred her acting to her singing! She was very watchable in 'Hello Dolly' although totally miscast (she was too young), but fantastic in comedy roles such as 'Whats up Doc!' and ''Meet the Fokkers'.

So you don't think she has a good singing voice Mike?? many people on here will disagree with you on that.

You would have thought BS would have learned a lesson from the "backlash" the Dixie Chicks received after their ill advised comments a couple of years ago.

hee hee - you're not trying to put words into my mouth are you Robert? its not so much her singing voice, which is unique, but her choice of material that is not to my taste. I have enjoyed her singing in films, and one or two album tracks ('Guilty' springs to mind) but I prefer up-tempo music and thats not what usually does.

Fort Lauderdale's 2nd concert

Post by Terence Lee » Tue Oct 31, 2006 12:35 pm

During the 2nd Fort Lauderdale concert on Oct 30th, a fan did not like her George Bush skit and threw a plastic cup of ice water at her. Some of the ice and water hit Barbra landing on her thigh and feet. A couple shouted at her and was escorted out. Yet others threw peanuts. That's some of the unexpected highlights of the concert which was filmed for DVD. I am sure Barbra has some editing to do. The most disturbing thing is that even before she sang her encores, droves of people were leaving for their cars.
Under such trying circumstances, Barbra kept her cool on stage and remarked "just buy my records, don't come to my shows". Barbra's loyal fans rally behind her and hope she will not be intimidated or silenced.

But Terence, Barbara will end up losing quite a lot of her fan base. People don't like to be preached at, as people (including BS fans) have their OWN opinions on things like that

Hi Robert

Barbra dropped that extra "a" long ago.
Is that your senior moment?
