Hi Marian, another great Rogers and Hart number. Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, both great versions.
" If They Ask M I Could Write A Book"
Here's another easy one.
Words Have Such Wonderful Meaning
When They're sincere and they're True.
Mine Surely Are Too Humble By Far.
But These Little Words Are Just For You.

This one is there--right at the back of my brain !!! But it will not come through yet. I'll try sleeping on it---that sometimes works.
Sometimes not
Sometimes not

Well--that was a surprise--I remember the name of Steve Conway, but I do not think I would recognise his voice.
Here is another verse--
Don't look so sad, I know it's over
But life goes on and this old world will keep on a-turnin'
Let's just be glad we had some time to spend together
There's no need to watch the bridges that we're burning

Hi Marian, Steve Conway also made "Daddy's Little Girl," popular, long before Al Martino recorded it and "The Stars Will Remember, and "Time After Time" just two more out of many. We have them all . Anyway Marian, your verse was the intro to "For The Good Times" beautifully recorded by Perry Como.
Here Is Another.........
The Roses Each One, Met With The Sun.
Sweetheart When I Met You.
The Sunshine Had Fled, The Roses Were Dead.
Sweetheart When I Lost You.

Before you get too excited about your newfound knowledge of opening verses, Robert, Marian's verse for For The Good Times is not really an opening verse. It's part of the proper song. I thought this game was just for opening verses, i.e., those parts of the song that are rarely recorded or performed, like the opening of The Shadow Of Your Smile so beautifully recorded by Matt Monro. But I could be wrong or it doesn't really matter, as long as we have fun!
P.S. I never heard of Lena and Harry's roses opening lyric!
