Hi Robert--I saw all the show and did not see Julio participate--not like Tony or Rod did. I just heard him sing one song--plus a little talking on x factor extra.

My sister will be happy about Westlife going to the top--although I did think it was a forgone conclusion. She is anxiously waiting for their new cd and dvd. I must say I do not know any other performers who produce as many cds and dvds as Westlife!! And they seem to be constantly on tour !!

I had heard ages ago that they had to change their name.

I like Ray best--he is my kind of singer---he reminds me a little of Bobby Darin.

I like Ray too, but I used to watch him as a little boy in Brookside, and I can't get that out of my head.

Thats how Westlife are raking in all the dough Marian, with having such a large fan base. The fans will buy anything the band releases

Hi Robert and Marian--yes I did know that Ray acted in Brookside--I believe he got an award for most talented young actor, at one of the Soap Awards, some time ago. But as I never watched Brookside, it made no difference to me.

You are right about Westlife-my sister will buy anything--she has posters, keyrings, scarfs, loads of stuff--she has just bought the 2 new singles, which are the same, but different "B" tracks, which are on another cd anyway. But I guess we are all a bit like that with our favourites.

I have one Westlife CD. Peter bought it for me as he knew I liked the song "You Raise me up". Didn't have the heart to tell him I 'd already bought Russell Watson's version!!

Well, I thought that was a very nice gesture from Peter---plus it is such a lovely song anyway--and Westlife do a very nice version--I have heard better, mind you. Especially Brian Kennedy. Funnily enough I have not heard Russell Watson sing it.

WELL-Julio was simply dreadful! HE must have paid THEM to appear.
The interview with Ben Shepherd on X-TRA FACTOR was puzzling,to say the least. He never participated in the advice section(thank goodness)and his song choice and performance was terrible-pity Simon Cowell and the judges weren't asked about him! Time to retire,Julio,as singer AND heart-throb, Embarrassing!

Mark-I have to agree with you re Julio on xfactor-I did not put it quite so bluntly myself, but you have hit the nail on the head. Poor Julio is past it !!!

YES, I certainly agree with the perfomance of Julio...He was dreadful !

I am sure he must have paid the camera and spotlight technicians, the views of his face, whilst singing, were very brief.

Just to go back briefly, I'm sure Russell Watson sang "You Raise me Up" at George Best's Memorial Service (I don't mean at his funeral.)
Anyway. it's on his album "Amore Musica" Marian.

You may well be right, Marian--I only saw the actual funeral, and that was definately Brian Kennedy.

Westlife is on this coming week, as previously mentioned---but as Barry's new cd "Songs of the 60's " is now released, [ I received mine today], I think that Barry will be on sooner rather than later.

When he did the American Idol show he helped out the contestants, and commented on them, just as Tony and Rod did, so let us hope that he will not do a "Julio"

Is this X Factor programme worth watching when I'm in London? Is it similar to American Idol? Does it focus on music or something else? ITV has listings for Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Is the Sunday programme a repeat of Saturday's?
