I brought `Matt sings Monro` a few weeks back, couldn`t stop playing it, it was so great to hear Matt singing duets with his father, We brought a double LP of Matt Monro at the Fans reunion meet on the 20th. haven't stopped playing it, truly great material, some songs I hadnt heard Matt sing before, i.e. Love is a many splendored thing, which is one of my favourites, also `Alfie` which is very poignant to me as my new grandson is called `Alfie`. and of course the all time favourites `softly as I leave you` which always brings a tear to my eye, and Born Free and Portrait of my Love. etc, etc. truly great songs sung by a great singer, I dont know if I could really say one particular song is my all time favourite, I so enjoy listening to them all. and of course on this album that we brought listening to songs that we hadnt heard before. :) :)

I haven't listened to the Christmas song yet as I only listen to Christmas music in December. Only one day to go!

Trust me, all of you will be listening to the Hollywood and Broadway CD for many, many years. That is a wonderful collection of songs from films and musicals, and no one can sing them like Matt Monro. I told Michele last Monday, that I never liked If He/She Walked Into My Life until I heard her father sing it. Other favourites are Put On A Happy Face, Look For Small Pleasures, I Only Miss Her When I Think Of Her, and Till The End Of Time. But every song is great!

I agree that the songs on Hollywood and Broadway are fantastic and show Matt to be the supreme song stylist and interpreter he was ,a few of these tracks are what drew me to Matts music in the mid 1980s when i came across an old vinyl LP called THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM bought for a massive £1.50 i walked the 5 miles to school for a week to pay for it.I vividly recall the expressions on my friends faces when we had a night playing our latest favourite records ,and in between records of Twisted Sister and Frankie Goes To HOLLYWOOD i put MATT on the turn table ,they all thought it was either Val Doonigan or my dad! When i told my dad he was chuffed to be compared to Matt -im sure Val would be pleased to!20 plus years later my kids know the words to every song -though when i join in ,its usually to a chorus of Shut Up Dad your rubbish !ah the youth of today !cant get my cd s off them---the power of Matt.

I should not think there are many songs called "Aubrey", soI would guess it is the same song--I have not heard Perry Como sing it, but I do know that Johnny Mathis does a beautiful version.

Surprisingly, it was not included on Jack Jones great album "Breadwinners"--which features Bread songs--obviously !!

But there are some great , great Bread songs apart from "Aubrey"--and apart from "If"---songs like "Diary" "Everything I own" "Make it with you" etc etc etc.

Yes, Robert "More " is definitely in our top Five of Matt's songs. We have many recordings of this song by different vocalists but none to come anywhere near Matt's
