Veno's was the one i couldn't remember, but tasted like the Galloways, quite nice.
Sounds like t was our fix, :D

I had a problem remembering Venos too Lena, Peter thought of it.
Some of those early cough remedies made you feel quite woozy didn't they? I think they could have easily got you hooked!
They all seem to be 'non drowsy' mixtures these days... spoilsports!

Well, that's true Marian.
Some years ago, My mother had a cough and cold and her elderly friend and neighbour (meaning well ) :) gave her some Benylin to take without my knowing it. She had probably had this bottle since the war years.
and my Mother always had to (exceed the dose to make sure( :roll: Consequently I found my mother lying on the floor in the hallway.
The doctor thought that the cough mixture was the cause, treated the bruises, and prescribed phensic. :) :)

PHENSIC-- another blast from the past-is that still available now--all the doctors will give now is paracetomol.

FISHERMANS FRIEND ( these disappeared for some years, and then made a return but didn't taste quite the same ) we substituted these when sweets were rationed.
