Your punishment is to prepare a summary list as you did for the moon songs (when you get a chance). We have already mentioned so many names!

Here's another boy for the list:

I only meant a list of the names submitted so far! But you're right, we could go on forever with the names.

I never liked that Clementine song. It's a song I sang as a little boy and I don't like the pop/swing song treatment.

I'm surprised one has mentioned the lovely When Joanna Loved Me from one of Matt Monro's favourite albums: Here's To My Lady.

How about 'Diana' by Paul Anka

And 'Diane' by Fleetwood Mac, or The Batchelors

I'm with Lena & Henry on Bobby Darins 'Clementine' -- he gives it his usual treatment, although in todays PC world, I'm sure it would never get released as a single!

Marian mentioned the Everley Bros, which reminded me of 'Claudette'
Michael

Here I go again, I hear those trumpets blow again.......

Good morning everyone!
I'll have a go at the list - a bit later, as I started you all off on this marathon! I just thought it might appeal to the simpler souls amongst us to whom some of the other IQ quizzes are a little difficult (like me!) Anyway, it is one everyone can have a go at...

Has anyone mentioned Michelle yet? :?: If so, I'm going to cheat with another - I Love Jennifer Eccles....

I can confirm that Mariana44 is right: Johnny Mathis did indeed record a song called Mariana. But he also recorded a lot of other songs with female names in: "Oh Jenny" is one, and also "Aubrey", which I think was a David Gates song (he from the group Bread). On the same album as that was a song called "Arianne" - both lovely tracks.

I know we have had Julie before---but there is also
"You're a queer one, Julie Jordan" from Carousel
"Oh Julie" sung by Barry Manilow, and Shakin' Stevens.

But the nicest one "Julie" beautiful song---Jack Jones.

Also , I know that "Juliet" by the 4 Pennies was listed by Robert---at the time this was in the Top Twenty, and my sister was about to have her first baby--a little girl--who was named---yes---"Juliet".

Paul, who is Liverpools # 1 group   is it the obvious answer :?: Also do you know that Ricky Nelson is the son of Ozzie and Harriet Nelson, famous on US TV in the 50's. Harriet Nelsons maiden name being Hilliard. Harriet Hilliard appeared in the Fred and Ginger movie "Follow The Fleet" singing two wonderful ballads, and looking so attractive in the movie :D :D

Another girls name "Clementine" but this Clementine was a single for Mark Owen of Take That fame, during his solo career
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On" :(

Of course, it's obvious, Robert. Liverpool's #1 group is Atomic Kitten. :) Just kidding! Even though they did record some good songs, like Whole Again and Someone Like You.

Yes, I know about Ricky Nelson. I watched Ozzie and Harriet when I was very young. I didn't know she was in that movie., or that she sang.

Here are two more song titles with girl names. They are the only songs I like by the Scissor Sisters.

Laura
Mary

Here's a boy song, since we haven't had too many of them yet. Just like Thinking Of You, it was a huge hit in the UK, but a flop in the US.

I'm feeling a little miffed now as you are all adding several names on each posting, and I got told off for doing the same not long ago!!  Stick to the rules guys!!!!

I agree with Marian, Julie is a lovely Jack Jones song. Another nice girl song he sings - EMILY.
