Hello, I'm a new fan from Houston, TX USA. 41 years old.

Just wanted to drop in and comment on the incredible song/performance
"On Days Like These". I heard it for the first time last week as the closing theme to the IMAX film "Indy Cars" featuring Mario Andretti.

I'm a professional musician (pianist) who has heard pretty much everything out there, vocal, instrumental, jazz,pop, classical......

Well, I searched the internet using the song title and found out that the singer was Matt Monro. I had never heard of him until last week!

This guy is incredible! Totally unique. At first I thought it might be Andy Williams, but something was different, better than all the rest. Such a pure, powerful instrument Matt possessed. Not to mention the song, which is so haunting. A truly great song captures a past memory, and this one brings back melancholy memories of youthful lost loves...

I ordered one his CDs on Amazon, and eagerly await its arrival, to check out his body of work.

Just wanted to post my opinion from my little corner of the world.

Sure wish today's pop music would revert to the quality personified in Matt Monro!

So glad you've finally found one of the truly great singers of the 20th century. I was fortunate in finding Matt Monro about 1970 and was able to collect almost all his music on LP then on CD. Keep coming back to this board and you will find other fans with like interest.

"On Days Like These" is Matt' song and Matt's alone, and among everyones favourite, and hope the C D that's winging it's way to you will be one of many, because believe us, You Ain't Heard Nothing Yet.
