I don't think this hasn't been submitted yet. It's a Christmas carol that I've just become familiar with. (For some reason, we never sang it in the Methodist church.) I think it's beautiful.

I guess I made a mistake ... Ruby is a girl's name and not a boy's. Well, this could be a boy or a girl:

Harry & Lena - it sounds like you are old enough to remember Maria Lloyd   But seriously, the only song of hers I know is 'When I take my morning promenade', did she sing 'Oh Mr porter?' as well?

Julie London does a fantastic version of 'June in January', but its clearly wrtitten about a month!!

Of course from musicals, you get loads of songs with names in them, here are a few for starters:

'Look at me I'm Sandra Dee'
'Freddie my love'
'Sandy'
(all from Grease)

'Have an eggroll, Mr Goldstone'

Its a jolly holiday with Mary (mary poppins)

Truly Scrumptious (if we can accept truly as a girls name!) Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Michael

Here I go again, I hear those trumpets blow again.......

Mike Marie Lloyd was probably the most famous of the Old Time Music Hall stars, but she died relatively young at the age of.52. "Oh Mr Porter" was one of her most famous songs, and now reminds us of another song of hers with a name.
" Come Into The Garden Maud."

Sorry Mike, missed your HAVE AN EGGROLL MR GOLDSTEN in the last update, should that be Goldstein I wonder. Anyway, didn't want to get on the wrong side of Mike again, so hope this will suffice.
