BRING A LITTLE WATER SYLVIE.... Lonnie Donegan.
We saw Lonnie Donegan sing not many years before he sadly died.
He appeared at his son's school in Reading for just one night, and gave the most wonderful perfomance. He had been ill previously, but for this night he pulled out all the stops. In a small school hall he performed as if he were at the London Palladium! He took time out afterwards to spend time signing programmes and just spending time with the people. It was great just to have been there. Thank you Lonnie, we appreciated it. :D

Just checked the HMV website and White Plains had an album track called "Julie Anne" but its not the same song as the 60's hit of the same name

I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On" :(

Is White Plains a British group? I always thought they were from White Plains, New York. :) Their only US hit was My Baby Loves Lovin' -- a great pop song.

Robert - I had previously submitted Julie Do You Love Me by Bobby Sherman. I don't know who did the original version.

Here's a song with two boy names and one girls name:

Marty Gray by one of my favourite country singers, Billie Jo Spears

Have we had 'Message to Martha' then?

Also - how about 'Paddy McGintees goat' as well?!

Oh and 'Delaneys Donkey'!

Hi Lena & Harry - thought 'Mr Porter' was Marie Lloyd too! When did she die? Did she ever appear on gramophone records or Cine Film? That would be amazing wouldn't it.

Mike Marie Lloyd died in 1922. She did make some 78 rpm recordings but nothing on film as far as we know.
She apparently had the most amazing funeral. Everybody in the Music Hall world attended. Many of the wreaths sent were all created from her songs for instance "My Old Man Said Follow The Van" but minus the none linnett.
Knowing Marie Lloyd we blush to think what her response would be to that.
