Vittoria Grigola - In the Hands of Love

Post by Michele Monro » Sun Mar 19, 2006 11:50 pm

I am not one for buying a CD based on a TV advert from a new artist but I have to tell you that is exactly what I did, and the CD didn't disappoint.

If you like the music of Andrea Bocceli and Il Divo then you are in for a treat, the album is full of passion and beauty. I love it so much that I cannot wait fo the follow up.

It is rumoured that Vitoria was originally in the line up for Il Divo, but I am not sure if this is true or not, can anyone shed some light on the subject

:D
I watched him on GMTV the other morning-good looking and a great voice.
From the Patrizio Buanne school of good looks.
Watch out for him.
Isn't he Vittorio Grigolo?

Yes that's his name - brilliant
Unfortumately I didn't see him on GMTV but if his CD is anything to go by I am sure he will be featured a lot more

Please forgive the correction.
On GMTV he actually sang 'live'-something I admire in todays lip-sync.world. I also caught Beverley Knight's appearance-'live'too and stunning!
Regards,
M

In the same vein.......

Is he better than Josh Groban or Russell Watson? There are so many tenors nowadays in popular music. By the way, Josh had an incredible debut CD then followed it with a live DVD which was stunning. The follow-up Live At The Greek DVD was so bad as he sounded nasal throughout and he has not been heard of since. Saw him appear on Michael Buble's Caught In The Act DVD not to sing......merely to appear.

Better than,worse than...I don't compare.
However,he is in the Patrizio Buanne school of good looks(Italian style)and his voice is different to either singers you mention.
He appeared on BBC TV ONE last Saturday in a Film Theme Show and an extensive UK TV ad capmaign is under way currently.
Highly recommended!

Thanks to Marian, I have a chance to watch Vittorio sing the Titanic song from the recent program "All-Time Greatest Fim Songs". Finally I have found a version that I like as Vittorio sings it with restraint & passion. Dame Shirley Bassey's Bond medley is sung with more confidence here than in the earlier "Another Audience With Shirley Bassey". Ronan Keating opened up the program with his charming song. The big disappointment of the night for me was Lulu with her jazzy take on "Try A Little Tenderness".

Terence we enjoyed most of the show, and agree with your comments on Lulu's jazzy version of "Try A Little Tenderness." What a way to murder a good song!!!

I listened to most of Friday Night Is Music Night. I liked best his version of Keane's Bedshaped. I'll "listen again" to it later in the week.

I wasn't too impressed with the young choir boys though---especially the dreadful Tears In Heaven.
