Yes Marian, of course you are correct with Lily m'Lady. I wanted to double up with the clue on the thoughts about potatoes. Lillie Langty being the mistress of Edward the Seventh and known as Jersey Lilly.
We holidayed at the "Langtry Manor Hotel in Boutnemouth, a few years ago. This was the house that Edward bought for Lillie Langtry.
It was wonderful. Saturday nights was known for it's Edwardian night.
It was a Seven course meal that began at Seven O'clock and each course was brought to the table by the waiters with Seven different choices for each course.
Everyone was having a smoke and even having a short walk in between the courses. Then the lights were dimmed and they were all dressed in Edwardian costume and even enacted some scenes from the Edwardian period.
The final course of food came up at I,oclock in the morning followed by coffee etc.
Not sure if they still do this. but it was memorable. fantastic food and beautiful bedrooms all with named Royalists.
