OHMSS is great because it sticks close to the book, as did my other fave Bond - 'From Russia with love'.

Both of these relied less on the gadgets - the only gadget in OHMSS is a 'portable' safe cracker and photo-copier (portable meaning they have to be lifted in by crane!

). George Lazenby's acting was panned by the critics, but his portrayal of Bond is true to the books, and his performance in the closing scene where his newly wed wife is killed is very touching
Have you read any of the books Gray? They are very dated now, kind of Biggles for grown ups! great fun to read! There is a new one due out, by a contemporary author, supposed to be in the same sort of style
I loved 'Goldfinger' too, and also 'Young only live twice', which I think is a stunningly shot film - a real work of art.
Marian - glad you enjoyed the 'Die Hard' film - they are usually pretty entertaining - how many vests must he get through?!
