Blue Moon
Has anyone heard Liza Minnelli's wacky version of Blue Moon recorded during her Capitol tenure? It is so offbeat that Capitol removed it from her first album LIZA LIZA when they reissued it as an abridged album years later with a new title MAYBE THIS TIME.

Hi all---that is so strange--yes I do love the Rod Stewart albums [songbook], but I put together a compilation of my favourites [via ITunes---naturally]--and that is what I usually listen to---and "Blue Moon " was not among those---but I really should have been able to guess with all the clues you gave me !!

Everyone's recording the Great American Songbook. Just tried Gladys Knight's latest CD. Unfortunately I thought she brought nothing fresh or new to this genre.
Michael Bolton also sings Sinatra on his latest CD. Have not listened to it yet.

Hi all-as we have not had a verse to guess for a few days, and as I happen to be on the forum, and I just happen to have one ready---here goes---
"Many men with lofty aims,
Strive for lofty goals,
Others play at smaller games,
Being simpler souls.
I am of the latter brand;
All I want to do,
Is to find a spot of land,
And live there with you."
I just love some of these intros---they are like another little song, with a different tune, that leads into the main words and melody.
This is such a well known song--a real golden goodie

Great version by Peggy Lee who almost whispers the lyrics.
