That is sad news, he has one of those instantly recognizable voices. It does say he will come back for one off specials though.

:( :( I will miss David very much, Sunday night listening to David Jacobs was a staple diet for me and many many others :D .................................... :( :(

I hope they keep a similar type of show........... presented by someone else on a Sunday night :)

Maybe they will play some repeats, like they did when he was ill--I would love to listen to some of the earlier shows.

Probably not--but I would enjoy the bits I do get to hear--although I confees sometimes, I do not get past the news !

Perhaps they could put it on earlier !

Tonights episode was from last October .....................I presume next weeks final show will be newly recorded, so David can say his goodbyes :) ................. :(

The legendary David Jacobs signed off from his David Jacobs collection show tonight :( ................the ending was quite sad to listen too, but David does sound poorly :(

Just checked the schedules for next week and Don Black is on Radio 2 at 11.0 pm...............if he is a regular presenter we should hear a lot of Matt's recordings :)

I thought it was sad too Robert,he seemed to be really struggling with his voice at the end :(

Very sad to say goodbye to David's programme last night, we shall miss it, but he did sound poorly and we could feel a lot of emotion there, particularly introducing Vic Damones song. :( :(

I don't listen to David's show but with all the recent talk I had a listen this morning and was shocked to hear how frail and slurred his speech was but he did seem to gain strength as the show went on.

I only got as far as Marni Nixon's songs but I will go back and listen to the rest.

Has David had a stroke? Brian Matthews sounds far stronger than him and they are of a similar age.

Nice to see you posting L&H where have you been? I miss your humour.
