Gloria -- I think we all agree that Matt Monro's I Have Dreamed is majestic. I love listening to it during a particular drive past beautiful homes and trees.
GregT -- Marian(a) is right that I love Ethel Baby. It never occurred that it might contain one of his highest notes ever; I adore that phrase. I think there are high notes in Havah Nagila and Spanish Eyes as well. A while ago we determined his longest held note is the final note in Time After Time. It would be fun to determine his highest sung note. Any other ideas? Perhaps Ethel Baby is the highest.
Ethel Baby is from the Broadway musical Mr Wonderful, which has a superb score with songs Without You I'm Nothing, Too Close For Comfort, Mr Wonderful. It was a showcase for Sammy Davis Jnr and is never performed anymore, because frankly there was only one Sammy Davis Jnr.
